Rain slows planting. What kind of progress are you making?

Has the wet weather slowed you down? What are doing while you wait? Drinking coffee? Last minute maintenance? Let us know.

I once helped my father farm a small 60 parcel of his 116 acre ranch in the very dry south central Texas geography. Variable weather greatly affected all aspects of farming: planting, cultivating and harvesting. Texas A&M has never to my knowledge cultivated non-tractor farming. This makes farming overly dependent on favorable weather. Heavy tractors cannot plant in sopping wet ground. A cable/winch pulled planter might do the job without a tractor.
