Politics of Renewable Energy: Part 2

The next President will most likely confront dramatic changes in American energy policy. Senators Obama and McCain have spent much of the 2008 campaign attempting to explain their own vision of renewable energy. In the second of a three-part series on renewable energy, Market to Market profiles the current landscape of politics and alternative sources of energy like wind power. Streaming video is below…

Would you be willing to put wind turbines on your farm?

Do you think the federal government should provide tax credits for wind energy?

YES; I would definately be willing to put an array of wind turbines on my farm. I would advocate that our Government have several standard turbines and turbine array designs available to farmers that would be beneficial in particular areas. for example: Windy Dry climates may benefit from Vertical axis turbines which may also be used as passive solar shade platforms to slow moisture evaporation. Wetter climates may use Horizontal axis turbines with greater efficiency. Also a combination of energy production and storage means could do good things for our manufacturing economy. Pnuematic post hole diggers and hand tools as well as hydrogen production should be welcomed on any farm as well as electricity production for grid credits. SA12

  2. Interesting article. People definitely need to see the real threat that global warming has on our world climate and setting out with green energy at home is crucial. If everyone simply does something small for our environment then final results will be enormous! I’ve looked into the various home green energy solutions and one that looks really effective at the moment is magnetic energy. Heres a link to an great article I recently read about it: <A href=”http://ezinearticles.com/?Magnetic-Energy-Generator—A-4-Hour-DIY-Project-That-Will-Save-You-Thousands-Every-Year
