Today, I performed my swan song at the Des Moines Public Library! Yes, that’s right, the 2015 Reading Road Trip is now over!

15,192 people attended my 71 story times this summer!

Thanks to all the kids, moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandpas, grandmas, and babysitters who showed up for the fun. Oh, and I can’t forget all the day cares and summer camps that also attended!

Most of all, though, I’m thankful for all the librarians who let me stand tall next to [...]

Robot Karaoke!

Even after 70 stops, the excitement and energy at the last few story times are feeling as fresh as ever.

Today, the librarians at the Iowa City Public Library were there in full force to support superhero reading!

After story time I enjoyed a spot of tea with Iowa’s biggest Wild Kratts fan.

I also was able to spend a little time singing Karaoke with a couple of my favorite robots!

Pirate Ship Mishap!

All my friends at the Coralville Public Library are aware that reading gives you superpowers!

Some of my favorite superpowers include the ability to turn invisible!

Being able to transfer into a flying pig is also a very impressive power in my book!

But, my absolute most prized superpower of them all is to share a good laugh with a crowd of rascals!

My second story time of the day was brought to you by the letters A and L. Add a P in [...]

Unruly Space Blobs!

This morning’s rain tried to wash away the story time crowds at the Johnston Public Library!

Luckily, things like snow, sleet, wind, and torrential downpours never stop the townsfolk from showing up for fun and adventure!

Some unruly space blobs attempted to crash our party!

Fortunately, a few kids who were strong in body and mind were able to chase off the invaders.

Dan’s Wise Advice of the Day: A spatula used by a ninja is much more dangerous than a spatula being used [...]

Ducks, Eat Your Grapes!

This morning, the Pella Public Library helped fill an auditorium full of enthusiastic families!

It’s easy to see why the town gets so excited about their library! One of the first summer reading prizes kids can earn is actually a superhero cape!

The offer of a free cape is so enticing, some kids even travel from Japan to participate. This particular family was so impressed by my performance, they even gave me a few shells from their home country!

Afterwards, we visited the [...]
