This morning, there were more than a few Curious George and Clifford fans at the Garnavillo Public Library!

It’s said that if you open a book, you open the world!

I especially like joke books! In fact, I practiced some joke-telling skills today and started off with one of my favorites, “Three dragons and a wizard walk into a library…”

The kids in Garnavillo thought I was hilarious.

Later, I took my comic stylings to the Carnegie-Stout Public Library in Dubuque!

This morning began with a return visit to the Anamosa Public Library, but not before a quick stop at the National Motorcycle Museum.

The librarians told me they have been getting an endless stream of phone calls from people wanting to know when I was scheduled to be there.

All the kids at story time were wearing the same hats. I thought I should get a closer look.

“We Geek Dan Wardell” hats! Most excellent. Now I have my own fashion line! [...]

Story time started today on the top floor of the Carnegie-Stout Public Library in Dubuque.

I thought there was going to be an argument between two of the kid pirates but they quickly settled their differences.

The city has been remodeling their library over the past few years and they have lots of cool new toys. I loved checking out one of my favorite books with their automatic checker-outer device.

All this winter weather made me recently decide to visit the local rainforest.

Of course, I didn’t need to go too far because the rainforest was actually the Botanical Center in Des Moines.  They are celebrating Valentine’s Day already!

I had the great fortune of meeting a REAL LIVE Master Gardener!

And speaking of REAL LIVE, a few weeks ago I saw a REAL LIVE Komodo Dragon at the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium in Dubuque!

Luckily WordGirl was there to protect me.

Word Girl visits the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium in Dubuque on January 17th during IceFest. Kids can come wearing their favorite superhero capes or costumes to help WordGirl and me just in case any supervillains show up!
