Construction Hats for Everyone!

This morning, when I arrived at the Lied Public Library in Clarinda, everyone was wearing construction hats!

That’s because a couple young rascals accidentally crashed a tractor into the library!

On the first day of the Reading Road Trip I always get concerned that no one will show up to listen to my story.

I shouldn’t have worried though! I shared the maiden voyage of my “Dig into Reading” story time with a crowd of over 200 people!

Metamorphosis!

Five years ago, during the first Reading Road Trip, I made a stop at the Lied Public Library in Clarinda. This morning I returned for more story time and adventure!

One little rascal had a bit too much fun! I signed his cast afterwards and he was feeling better than ever.

Although the library looked the same, there were some differences I noticed. Last time I was there I met a big green caterpillar.

Surprises are lots of fun - unless they are bulldozers and dump trucks blocking your road!

Construction on Highway 71 almost made us really late to our stop in Clarinda yesterday! But luckily my librarian friends were waiting for me at the front door!

Clifford the Big Red Dog was waiting for me, too!

Later that day at the Shenandoah Public Library I was presented with a beautiful butterfly!
