Bandshell Park!

It’s tradition that the Ames Public Library holds my story time at Bandshell Park! This morning I had a host of volunteers ready to help me unpack!

I love performing outside because I can move in and out of the crowd with ease!

Plus, you never know when you might meet a family out walking their dogs!

I just wish I had a little more time after my performance to play around in the park for a bit!

My final story time of the [...]

Our Luck Finally Ran Out!

Today, our good luck finally ran out. After seven years of outside performances at the Ames Public Library, the thunder and lightning dragon finally caught up to us.

And, wow, did the storms catch up with us. There was so much water falling from the clouds that we had to hop aboard a boat to get to our alternate story time location.

I would have been disappointed about not performing in the great outdoors, but, there was an awesomely huge curtain in [...]

Reverse the Bandshell?

This morning, the Waukee Public Library had prepared for me a giant obstacle course with a jungle adventure theme! My first quest was to get across the treasure room by only stepping on the correct stones!

I Spy a Big Blue Dog!

Look who was waiting for me at the Ames Bandshell this morning!

Smyles wasn’t the only one looking for a story. Lots of patrons from the Ames Public Library were there, too!

I was asked to join in a synchronized musical performance on the stage!

And, afterwards, I even was able to enjoy the park for a bit!

My next stop was the Clive Public Library!

Steve, one of my co-workers, was there to shoot some video of the adventures we were having!

Some friends asked [...]

Don’t Touch that Fruit!

If you had trouble finding a parking spot next to the Ames Public Library today, this is the reason why!

The citizens of Ames love story time and they also love participating in the summer reading program!

After performing in front of such big crowds, I knew it was “time” for a quick break.

That’s right, it was time to kick back and have a story told to me by Smyles the library dog!

However, I couldn’t sit back and relax for long because [...]
