Tick Tock Goes The Clock!

As we approach the end of the 2014 Reading Road Trip, it’s time to start thanking everybody who has taken a “leap of faith” by attending story time!

All of the librarians, including the ones from today’s stop at the Robert W. Barlow Memorial Library in Iowa Falls, have been as sweet as honey to me.

With this summer’s “Fizz! Boom! Read!” theme, kids everywhere have developed a new appreciation for science and learning at the library!

Tomorrow, my travels around the state [...]

The Sad Bodiless Robot!

Today, I was greeted into the Coralville Public Library by the most patriotic librarian you ever did see.

As usual, the crowds were full of energy and excitement!

I noticed that there was a sad bodiless robot in the crowd, so, afterwards I spent a few minutes to help him create a new exoskeleton.

Somehow, in the process of forging new robot parts, I accidentally altered the gravity in the room!

My next visit of the day was to the brand-new Cedar Rapids Public [...]

Bad Cake! Very Bad Cake!

I kicked off my final week of the Reading Road Trip with a visit to the Fort Dodge Public Library. Every week there is a summer reading secret password and I was honored to discover that today it was IPTV!

Coming up with a weekly password is such a difficult task that three of the finest lab rats from Password University are on retainer to help.

After story time, Doctor Sam Schnauzer, renowned canine professor, was available to give a short presentation [...]

Mister and Miss Squirt!

It appeared this morning would be just another normal visit to the Waterloo Public Library.

However, I noticed a few of the kids seemed to be infected with some kind of aggressive brain fungus.

After a quick search, I located the source of the infection. The librarians had not cleaned their fish tank in a long time, and mutated slime was growing out of it.

No one needed to panic because I had a plan! A few well-placed bags of flaming destruction [...]

Baby Dino!

This morning, the sign at the Mason City Public Library said “SPARK a Reaction!” So, of course, I tried to do exactly as it said.

Unfortunately, my “spark” caused a little bigger reaction than anyone was expecting.

Somehow I accidentally transformed one of the library’s houseplants into a strange abomination.

Luckily, my damage was easily undone thanks to the help of the librarians and some reversal potions that they had on hand.

Later, the kids showed up to the Lake Mills Public Library in [...]
