Something’s in the Air!
Today I celebrated this summer’s tenth Reading Road Trip stop in DeWitt with some of my favorite things. There were large crowds!
There were puppets, puppets, and more puppets!
There were lots of crazy hats!
There were even a couple cute rascals who watched a Reading Road Trip performance for the very first time.
Later that day, at the Davenport Public Library, it was “Bring Your Dog to Work Day!”
Strangely enough, it was also “Can Your Horse Jump Through a Hoop Day.”
It seemed as if there was something strange in the air. At first I thought the strange atmospheric sensation was coming from all these mysterious flying discs.
As it turns out, it was LOVE in the air. The yeti mask from my story time fell in love with a tribal mask from the library. I told the yeti he would need to wait until the end of the summer to get married!

Dan’s Wise Advice of the Day: If you are ever in a genetics laboratory with a crowd of reporters and the head scientist announces he or she is about to reveal a Badgersaurus, I would stick close to the door. I’ve seen enough movies to know these things rarely end well.

We had such a good time. I have talked to so many kids, moms, dads and grandmothers who have told me how they enjoyed your program. You have so much energy and IMAGINATION and you have FUN too. You must use that space ship of yours to FLY all around the state of Iowa. Hope to see you soon.
