In the Library, Dee Lyon Sleeps Tonight.
It was easy to “Make a Splash” at the Schleswig Public Library this morning.
That’s because it was raining cats and dogs, and even a few owls.
I won three trophies for my story time including one for: “Best Performance While Wearing a Bicycle-Horned Hat.”
The librarian in Schleswig also wears a cool hat and has a cool name. Her name is Dee Lyon, and that’s no lying!
My second stop today was at the Kimballton Public Library. Their librarian, Rose, is also a fierce lion, protecting good books everywhere.
I stopped by the city clerk’s office to get the paperwork needed for renting out the town’s gazebo.
It cost me a pretty penny, but it was all worth it.
That’s because it made a great spot to take a fabulous picture of all my story time friends.
Dan’s Wise Advice of the Day: Attaching rocket boosters to a gazebo can only result in one thing: PURE UNREFINED AWESOMENESS!

Dan,
Thank you so much for your visit to Schleswig. My daughter Emma had a BLAST, and is still talking about you this evening. She has been waiting to see you and you made her dream come true. As an educator, thank you for all you do for the kids of Iowa!
