Thursday is the day I look forward to the most because it is the day I get to show you some of the awesome mail I’ve received from kids all over Iowa!

We’re less than a week away from our first Reading Road Trip stop,and I’m putting the finishing touches on the story I’ve created for story time!

I had hoped that I might be able to add some music to the story, but as you’ll see in this video, I’m having some troubles with my guitar!

Maybe I should get a set of bongos!

This past weekend, I went fishing with my family, but as my dad would say,“We got skunked!”

That means we didn’t catch any fish! I’m not sure why people say they were “skunked” when they don’t catch any fish. Perhaps it’s because not catching any fish feels like a bunch of skunks crawling all over you.

I’m so surprised we didn’t catch anything! We had assembled the finest anglers in northeast Iowa!

I’ve caught small fish…

I’ve caught medium-sized fish…

And I’ve even caught big fish…

But it always seems like my dad and sister catch even BIGGER fish!

It doesn’t matter! I’m fishing with my family today and having a GREAT time. I’ll make sure to take plenty of pictures and video to show you next week!
